These terms govern the use of the Travel Token Marketplace by travel agencies, marketplace partners, and travelers.
These terms apply to every use of the Travel Token Marketplace platform operated by Travel Token Marketplace GmbH (“TTM”, “we”), by travel agencies and advisors that create Travel Tokens (“Distributors”), by tour operators, suppliers, and experience providers that issue and redeem them (“Marketplace Partners”), and by the travelers who receive them.
A Travel Token is the digital representation of one defined tourism service made available by a Marketplace Partner. It is not a means of payment, a monetary voucher, or a loyalty point, and it carries no cash value or refund entitlement beyond the underlying service it represents.
A Marketplace Partner defines the service and its validity period; a Distributor selects it and issues it to a traveler. Redemption takes place directly with the issuing (or, where separately agreed, a fulfilling) Marketplace Partner, subject to that partner’s own availability and terms of service. Where the issuer and the fulfiller of a token are different parties, redemption is conditional on a prior agreement between them.
Tokens are secured using blockchain-based technology in the background. No party is required to hold cryptocurrency, operate a crypto wallet, or have any technical understanding of the underlying infrastructure to issue, hold, or redeem a token.
Where TTM makes protocol components such as the Travel Token Messenger available as open source, their use is additionally governed by the license published in the respective repository (LGPLv3), independent of these terms.
TTM operates the marketplace infrastructure and is not itself a party to the underlying travel service. TTM’s liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, except for injury to life, body, or health and other liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to the platform; the version published here is always the current one.
These terms are governed by German law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
